While we all enjoy that many of the message board programs out there have many free mods and themes available to them, almost all themes and mods require either a payment, or a copyright to remain in tact. Regardless if a theme/mod is free or paid for, you must:

1) Pay for the theme/mod, if the owner so desires.
 - If the mod/theme is provided free per the original author disregard above.
2) Leave any copyrights in tact as they are provided to you within the theme/mod.

Many people skip this, but a favicon can really give a site a personal touch.

What's a favicon... it's that little image in the URL bar when you visit a site. It's the image that appears next to a site's name in your favorites bar. It's the image that would accompany a site if someone actually sends it to their desktop.

On several forums I have over 500 post and with a signature link on every post.  When I launch a new site, I will go to a couple of those forums, change my signature and add a link to the new site.

In a matter of minutes I can provide 2,000 - 3,000 links to a new site just by changing my signature on a few forums.

By having these signatures in place they are a resource that I can pull from to get sites indexed pretty fast.
