The Suffolk Sports Forum
« on: April 17, 2009, 04:40:00 AM »
I have been running for about 18 months. The first year or so I had the forum attached to a local football club's website.

Just before Christmas I bought a domain name and have gone solo.

We feature almost all sports and if people can't find the sport they are looking for we can easily create a section.

I am encouraging grass roots clubs to use the forum creating their own section.

So if you like sport at any level why not pop on in and have a look.

All feedback appreciated.

I am also running two very good mods from SMF Modding:- these are the sporting predictions mod and the quiz mod.

The forum can be foind here:- http://www.suffolksportsforum.co.uk

Looks like it's very active, great job!

I like the use of the icons in the front of each board name.

Is that a theme or did you build that yourself?

The theme for the forum is DS-Natural from DZiner studio. It's a free theme but for a few dollars they created the logo and posts identifies.

I also use a mod called "Images On Board" to add images that identify the boards............

We are fairly active yet it's the same old story. People visit but getting them to post!

It looks really nice, although, you have some strange, quite specific boards :P. But it looks great :).

I mean how you have an entire board for Sexy Women Polls, when most would just make a women boards, or sexy women, and have polls in it. It seems quite a speific thing to talk about. But it seems to be working fine ;).

It's too wide on a 1024x 768 screen, there's a horizontal scroll. (Personally), I've found it's better if you can try to limit yourself to the left and middle columns only. I've tried the left + middle + right, here many times, but I always end up removing the right column since it just feels confined to me. If you want to keep all three, you will want to reduce the width of your sponsor's banner and reduce the number of gallery preview items.

If you happen to use FireFox, get the Web Developer toolbar, it has a great feature which allows you to resize your screen to a smaller size so you can see how other people will see your site.

If you use this mod:-     SMF Media Gallery  1.5.6

Then the tab should be automatically created for you.....

./Sources/Subs.php

Find:

         'mlist' => array(

Add Before:

         'mgallery' => array(
            'title' => $txt['mgallery_gallery'],
            'href' => $scripturl . '?action=mgallery',
            'show' => allowedTo('mgallery_access'),
